For businesses based in Greater London, applications for SME grants of between £1000 and £5000 are opening on 16th October 2020.

This grant is generally available to all SME businesses that have been affected by COVID-19 on a first-come, first-served basis. Affected businesses can use this grant to pay for accountancy and other professional advice, adopt new technology or purchase minor equipment in order to continue business activity during the current pandemic.

Businesses would need to provide general business details, financial reports, forecasts or COVID-19 response plans, and details of how the business has been affected by COVID-19.

This is a good opportunity for businesses to seek help from their advisory or purchase equipment they need to digitise their business activities to ensure survival in the current crisis. This grant can go much further for businesses than it appears in the first instance. It could mean the difference between survival or closure.

At present, most businesses are struggling for survival and advice on cash flow management, tax savings/reliefs and payment deferrals, business continuity/recovery plans, or cost reduction options without impacting adversely on activities, can make a significant difference to a business’s survival potential.

If your business is struggling, do not overthink the situation. Start preparations to apply for this grant. Most businesses do not fail because of limited resources, but as a result of late decision-making or decisions that are based on rough estimates or historical data.
